How to Take a Screenshot from Your Device

Taking a screenshot is a quick way to capture what’s on your screen, whether it’s for work, personal use, or troubleshooting. Here’s a simple guide to help you take screenshots on your PC, Mac, iPhone, or Android device.

Screenshot on PC (Windows)

Full-Screen Screenshot: Press Windows Key + Print Screen. Your screenshot is saved automatically in the Screenshots folder under Pictures.
Custom Area Screenshot: Press Windows Key + Shift + S to open the Snipping Tool overlay, then drag to capture your desired area. (Snip & Sketch has been folded into the Snipping Tool app, so this one shortcut now covers both.)
Screen Recording: Press Windows Key + Shift + R to start a quick screen recording via Snipping Tool.

Full-Screen Screenshot: Press Command + Shift + 3. The screenshot will appear on your Desktop.
Custom Area Screenshot: Press Command + Shift + 4. Drag the crosshair to select the area you want to capture.

Face ID Models (iPhone X and newer): Press Side Button + Volume Up. The screenshot appears in the bottom-left corner for editing or sharing.
Touch ID Models (iPhone 8 and older): Press Home Button + Side/Top Button.

Most Android Devices: Press Power + Volume Down simultaneously. The screenshot is saved in your Gallery or Photos App.
Gesture Methods (Samsung, Pixel, etc.): Check your settings for features like “Palm Swipe to Capture” (Samsung) or “Quick Tap” (Pixel — Settings > System > Gestures > Quick Tap to start actions).
